(Ottawa, ON) – Three outgoing members were re-elected to the Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) Board of Directors at the WCL Annual General Meeting on September 29, 2024.
WCL welcomes non-executive directors David Bush, Indhyra Helfrich Linares and Theresa Vladicka, elected for a two-year term. WCL also thanks outgoing Non-Executive Administrator Bill Haliburton for his contributions during WCL’s first year of governance under the new bylaws.
“We look forward to the continued contributions of our re-elected directors and enter the new quadrennial with a diverse and strongly supported group of leaders,” said Board Chair Brittanee Laverdure.

WCL also brought its 13 provincial and territorial members together in Ottawa for annual sessions, including a workshop on inclusive leadership, led by INclusion INcorporated. “This workshop is an integral part of WCL’s commitment to learning and building a more inclusive community,” said Mr. Laverdure.
Members also continued their collaborative work on the alignment of NSOs and PTAs on sporting integrity, with the support of the Sports Act, with the aim of aligning codes of conduct and behavior with a national standard. “This is an important step toward our continued improvement and commitment to ensuring that our wrestling communities are founded on standardized principles of sporting integrity,” said Tamara Medwidsky, Executive Director, who continued: “We look forward to continued engagement with our APTs as we build a more robust system.”
