Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) was saddened to learn of the passing of Brock Wrestling Club junior coach, Kekoo Gatta. Gatta, 60, died Tuesday, September 3, while swimming in the Niagara River.

Gatta was very involved in the Ontario wrestling community. He served as a mentor, coach and leader within the Brock Badgers Wrestling Club. Gatta was also involved in the Jamaica Wrestling Federation, where he mentored U17 athlete Ezekiel Ivri.

Gatta was the founder and owner of Gatta Homes, a luxury development company based primarily in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gatta Get’Em on the Mat Fund. Established last year, this fund aims to support young athletes in the field of wrestling, ease their financial burden and encourage the next generation of wrestlers.
