Russian Bakhram Murtazaliev largely dominated Australian Tim Tszyu, by retirement in the third round, to retain the IBF super-welterweight belt and remain undefeated on Saturday in Orlando.
Murtazaliev, relying on his left hook, knocked Tszyu to the mat three times in the second round. In the third, Tszyu was once again sent to the ground before his clan threw in the towel.
Bakhram Murtazaliev (31 years old) now has 23 successes in as many professional fights, including 17 by knockout.
Son of super-lightweight legend Kostya Tszyu, Tim Tszyu (29 years old, 24 wins and two defeats now) held the WBO belt before suffering a first defeat in March against the American Sebastian Fundora.
