While she easily won Monday in her round of 16 against New Zealander Tayla Ford (6-0), Koumba Larroque fell against a rock in the quarterfinals, the Nigerian Blessing Oborududu. Against the reigning Olympic vice-champion, the Frenchwoman took the advantage at the start of the fight to lead 2-1, before letting go and being overtaken in the last minute, to concede a 6-2 defeat.
The four-time world medalist (silver in 2018, bronze in 2017, 2022 and 2023) remains in contention for bronze via repechage, if Oborududu qualifies for the final.
