Arsenal are reportedly preparing to open contract extension talks with Leandro Trossard as the Belgian forward has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League. According to Express Sport, these discussions will take place after the January transfer window closes on February 3. Trossard, who has 18 months left on his current deal, remains a valued member of Mikel Arteta’s squad despite facing strong competition for a starting role.

The 30-year-old has been a consistent presence this season, making 28 appearances across all competitions and contributing four goals and three assists. While his current form hasn’t quite matched the exceptional performances of the previous season, when he displaced Gabriel Martinelli from the starting lineup, his versatility and reliability continue to make him an important part of Arsenal’s plans. He has featured in all 20 of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season, underlining his role as a dependable squad member.

Trossard currently earns a reported £90,000 per week and could see an increase in wages as part of the proposed new deal. Arsenal are keen to secure his future amid growing interest from abroad, particularly from the Saudi Pro League, which has been actively pursuing high-profile players.

Beyond Trossard, Arsenal are also facing key decisions on other players, with Jorginho and Thomas Partey’s contracts set to expire in the near future. These matters have been complicated by the recent departure of sporting director Edu in November 2024, but Arsenal’s management is eager to stabilize their squad by addressing these contract situations promptly.

Trossard, capped 41 times by Belgium, joined Arsenal in January 2023 from Brighton & Hove Albion for £27 million. Since then, he has been praised for his professionalism and adaptability. Arteta has spoken positively about Trossard’s contribution to the team, emphasizing his technical skills and winning mentality. The Belgian attacker is reportedly happy at the Emirates and keen to extend his stay with the club until beyond 2026.

This contract extension reflects Arsenal’s commitment to retaining experienced and versatile players as they continue to challenge for top honors under Arteta.
