WWE recently wrapped up its final event of the year with the famed Survivor Series, and much of the discussion surrounding the fights that took place revolves around one question: what role did weapons play in those clashes? This article looks at the use of weapons during matches and their impact on the spectacle.

The impact of weapons in WarGames combat

WWE WarGames fights have always been known for their intensity and brutality. However, this edition left a mixed impression. If the main combat managed to captivate thanks to memorable moments, the excessive use of weapons raised questions. Indeed, during the women’s match, each participant seemed to feel obliged to search under the ring in search of objects to use as weapons.

It is important to remember that the cage itself is a type of weapon. Historically, early WarGames combat did not require additional items, as the very framework of combat was designed to deal damage. The introduction of other weapons into these matches seems to have changed their essence, which may frustrate wrestling purists.

Comparison between Survivor Series matches

The performances of different fights at Survivor Series vary widely. The women’s WarGames fight, while entertaining, does not match the excitement generated by the men’s match. Despite mixed reviews, it seems like Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan’s rivalry is worth continuing, especially in light of their journey over the year.

Furthermore, the fight for the Intercontinental title bringing together three participants was in line with expectations. Although Sheamus generated excitement among fans, he did not win the title. However, a singles match between Sheamus and Breakker would be desirable to close this rivalry, providing a more accomplished finale.

Analysis of title fights

The United States title fight was marked by some apathy, despite the surprise of a champion change with Nakamura. His new gimmick has interesting parallels with historical figures, but the lack of inspiration from his performances in WWE leaves one wondering about the rest of his career.

As for Gunther, he managed to retain the heavyweight title against Damian Priest, with the interference of Finn Balor adding a dimension to their rivalry. Although the match was of good quality, it will not make history like some of the previous clashes.

In conclusion, WWE Survivor Series highlighted the importance of weapons in fighting and their effects on storytelling. While some fights managed to captivate, the excess of objects could have harmed the authenticity of these shows so loved by wrestling fans.
