On television in the United States since October 2019, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is increasingly establishing itself as a legitimate competition to the McMahon family’s WWE in the world of sports entertainment.
Halfway through 2023, the organization’s most lucrative year with a high-profile show coming up at London’s Wembley Stadium in late summer, AEW is currently in the midst of a Canadian tour in on the heels of a paid event, Forbidden Door, in partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
However, this return to Canada of AEW was, once again, an affair excluding Quebec. After shows in Toronto and elsewhere in Ontario, the company headed to the prairies for evenings in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
This was the second time that AEW crossed the border north to allow the organization’s many Canadian wrestlers to perform in front of their fans. The Canadian delegation includes, notably, Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega.
AEW in Montreal before Christmas
Before the conclusion of this Canadian tour, the historian Pat Laprade had a scoop that he revealed during the most recent broadcast of his podcast Les Anti-Pods de la Lutte.
According to several sources, All Elite Wrestling will be in Montreal, at the Bell Center, on December 5 and 6.
We are talking here about wrestling presentations on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening, between Canadian matches.
Wednesday, obviously, will be for the live taping of the weekly show Dynamite.
On Tuesdays, we might pre-record Saturday’s show, Collision, or other productions like Rampage and Ring of Honor.
Evenko has still not confirmed the news and the official announcement has still not come from AEW.
For Quebec fans, this will be an opportunity to see several local wrestlers live with AEW. Matt Menard and Angelo Parker, alongside Chris Jericho, in addition to Evil Uno and Stu Grayson. We also suspect that several local talents will be called upon during this visit.
